As panic attacks occur and it causes a sudden surge of overwhelming anxiety and fear, it must be cured with utmost care for early treatment and for continued mental and physical well being of the sufferer. A collection of panic attack medicine and treatments are developed and marketed around the world. However, it is always up to the consumers’ discerning eye whether to avail of such scientifically-tested medical breakthroughs or use any such claimed-to-be-effective methods on how to get rid of panic attacks and other related issues.

Panic attack symptoms like palpitations, excessive sweating and trembling, chills or hot flushes, shortness of breath, chest pains, dizziness or light-headed sensation, numbness should be taken note of. When such symptoms are seen beforehand they should not be taken for granted. Its treatment is also important due to the mental and physical damage which it will cause to a patient who loses all hope and become too much pessimistic. Carelessness may lead to other complications as well. Any single panic attack may eventually become a panic disorder. Worst case scenario would be feeling hopeless and eventually prone to suicidal tendencies.
Hence, you should prioritize the panic attack treatments and develop an optimistic approach towards life. Far from the shadow of doubt, you have to consult a doctor, but it should be accompanied by an extensive research on every possible source of any treatment for panic attacks. Ignoring panic attacks can alter your daily activities, might make you develop phobias, make you lose opportunities that are normally easy to accomplish.

Worrying is normal but it should be up to a certain level only. When your worries overpower your mind, problems start to arise and you are left with fewer and fewer choices. Contemporary medical science has grown up to the level from where it claims that panic attacks are very much treatable. This claim is proven true by many practical experiments. You must seek help and look for appropriate treatments, options, remedies, and methods to get rid of problematic symptoms, and arrive at the right solutions to your specific problem. Once you begin the proper treatment, positive results will follow accordingly. Knowing how to deal with panic attacks symptoms and managing panic attacks will eventually lead you to a life free from panic, stress, anxiety and depression. In the long run you will gain much needed confidence and regain control over your life.

Anxiety may lead to various other problems. These problems might result in small and easily avoidable symptoms which will grow over time resulting into panic attacks. Many factors contribute to the panic attacks. One of the main factors is overwhelming fear or tension. This can easily turn into panic attacks but can be controlled at this very level with the help of anxiety treatment, or methods on anxiety attack remedy.

You should also follow a strict routine when you start with the any treatment. Although, anxiety makes the patient act in an agitated way, a regular treatment will help in making the situation better. Not only will the symptom disappear, you will also be able to cope with every situation confidently and better than you did before.

Panic attacks and any panic disorder must be cured with immediate effect so that a sufferer regains lost confidence. Panic medication plays a great role in diffusing symptoms of panic attacks. Your disorder can be treated with numerous specific therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, medication and or the combination of both depending upon the intensity of disorder and guidelines by a specialist. Cognitive behavioral therapies are today considered the most effective form of treatment. It comes in the category of best panic medication techniques to keep panic attacks, disorders and agoraphobia at bay.

The behavioral changes in the patient are mapped so as to know the basic cause of the problem. This is the main principle on which this theory works. Apart from these therapies, there are some medications that are also helpful. A good example of panic medication is the exposure therapy. Here the patient is deliberately brought into such situation that he tends to avoid. All this happens in a controlled environment. This makes them aware about certain things that help them keep their cool in such situations.

It enables us to adjust and gauge our natural reactions to stimulus– Anxiety is our normal reaction to stress. It is a way to for us to cope. It helps us deal with tense situations at work, study harder for school exams, and stay focused on performing for an important speech. But when anxiety becomes unmanageable, excessive, irrational fear of everyday situations, it has become a disabling anxiety panic disorder.

Anxiety can be accompanied by physical effects such as headaches, heart palpitations, nausea, chest pain, stomach aches, and shortness of breath. Physically, the human body prepares to deal with what it perceives as a threat. Blood pressure and heart rate are increased, sweating is increased, blood flow to muscle groups increases and immune and digestive system functions are somewhat repressed (the fight or flight response). External signs of anxiety may consist of pale skin, excessive sweating, unmanageable trembling, difficulty in breathing and many others. Someone suffering from anxiety might also experience it as a sense of crippling dread or panic.

Panic attacks are sudden outbursts of overwhelming fear that comes with no any warning and without any obvious reason. These episodes can come to pass anytime, even during sleep. A person experiencing it may honestly think that he or she is having a heart attack. It is far more intense than having anxiety or the feeling of being ’stressed out’ that most people nowadays experience. One out of every 75 people worldwide will experience panic attacks at one time in their lives. Yes it seems scary if you ask me. But you don’t have to worry if you are accurately informed and attentively prepared.

Panic attacks are not completely dangerous, but they can be terrifying and disturbing, largely because it feels ‘crazy’ and ‘out of control.’ Anxiety Panic disorders are frightening and mind boggling because of the panic attacks associated with it, and also because it often leads to other complications such as phobias, depression, substance abuse, medical complications, and even worst, suicide.

People who have full-blown, repeated panic attacks can become very handicapped by their condition and should try to find proper treatment before they begin to avoid places or situations where panic attacks have been known to occur. For example, if anxiety panic attacks happened in an elevator, somebody with panic disorder may develop a phobia of elevators that could apparently affect the choice of a job or a place to stay, and restrict where that person can look for medical attention, or do normal activities, or enjoy any type of entertainment or physical activities.

Depression and anxiety might seem like opposites. We think: Depression saps you of energy; anxiety makes you tense, uneasy and afraid. Depression makes it almost impossible to get out of bed; anxiety leaves you sleepless, restless all night.

But the truth is not so simple. In fact, anxiety and depression often go together. Mental health experts estimate that more than half of the people diagnosed with depression also have anxiety. Sad but true.

“We know that many of the symptoms of depression and anxiety disorders overlap,” says Ian A. Cook, MD, the director of the Depression Research Program at UCLA. “And we’re learning from clinical studies that there also appears to be a lot of overlap in the underlying brain mechanisms involved in these two conditions.”

Unfortunately, the combination of depression and anxiety can be predominantly severe, and many people don’t get the correct diagnosis. The good news is that doctors have good treatments for tackling both conditions.
“When you’re in the grip of depression and anxiety, it can feel like the misery will never end, that you’ll never recover,” says Dean F. MacKinnon, MD, an associate professor at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. But people do recover. Panic attack treatments are everywhere and finding the right remedy or treatment for you can be the real challenge.

For the time being, dozens or even scores of panic attack treatments are found circulating everywhere with the intention of finding the cure or remedy for anxiety panic attacks and relieving depression and other life threatening mental health issues.

Although either depression or anxiety can be a disabling condition on its own, the combination can be particularly challenging. If you’re already depressed, anxiety is a multiplier of suffering.
Depression can make people feel profoundly discouraged, helpless, and hopeless. Anxiety can make them agitated and besieged by physical symptoms — a pounding heart, tightness in the chest, sweating, and difficulty in breathing.

“People who have both depression and anxiety feel very low, down in the dumps, and unmotivated,” says Jerilyn Ross, MA, LICSW, president and CEO of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America. “But their minds are also racing, they can’t concentrate, they can’t sit still. It’s a very tough combination.”
It’s also tough to control. “It’s important for people to recognize that when they have both depression and anxiety, it may be more difficult for them to get all the way well,” Cook says. That’s not to say they won’t recover fully, but that it may take more work, he says.
People diagnosed with both depression and anxiety tend to have
• More severe symptoms
• More functional impairment
• More trouble finding the right treatment
• A higher risk of suicide
Some people who are depressed have a distinct anxiety disorder, like panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, or generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), Ross says. Many others don’t have full-fledged anxiety disorders, but more general anxiety symptoms that accompany their depression.
The fact that depression and anxiety so often co-occur has led some researchers to speculate — controversially — that they may not always be different conditions. “It’s possible that in time, we’ll come to see anxiety and depression together as representing a distinct illness separate from either condition by itself,” Cook says.
For the time being, dozens or even scores of panic attack treatments are found circulating everywhere with the intention of finding the cure or remedy for anxiety panic attacks and relieving depression and other life threatening mental health issues.

The holiday season is quickly approaching and many of us are preparing for this joyous time of the year. Some may embrace the holidays with cheer, hope, and thanksgiving while others may embrace the season with burden, anxiety, and personal failure. This article addresses three ways you can overcome anxiety and depressed mood during the holidays.

The first and most effective way to avoid anxiety and depressed mood is to recognize unachievable and unrealistic expectations (unhealthy thoughts) that you may subscribe to. Our thoughts have a direct bearing over our emotional disposition and the consequences that occur in the aftermath. We often cannot change circumstances (situations, events, and the behavior of others) that occur in our lives but we do have the power to alter the way we feel and react to them by simply changing the way we think. If we would like to avoid experiencing anxiety and depressed mood during the holidays, we must take ownership and control over our own thoughts by identifying unhealthy thoughts that we may subscribe to that might be contributing to a negative emotional disposition and replace them with healthier ones.

Some may fear social rejection and judgment from others. Though others may choose to judge negatively, pondering on this thought can ultimately rob you of experiencing joy and happiness. The following are six common unachievable and unrealistic expectations (unhealthy thoughts) that are often pondered on during the holidays:

1. “I need to spend a lot of money on gifts otherwise I might be perceived negatively by others” – It is a shame that so much worry is attributed from the issue of money especially during the holidays. We should not feel or be made to feel that the holidays are all about external/physical gifts. The most precious gift that we can give to one another is our fellowship and love (internal gifts). No external/physical gift can replace this. Internal gifts have a longer shelf life and increase our self-esteem more than external/physical gifts. We must keep this issue in the proper perspective otherwise we can inadvertently teach others that external/physical gifts are more precious and desirable than our fellowship and love.

2. “For gatherings, my home must always be clean and tidy otherwise I might be perceived negatively by others” – It is never okay to invite guests to a filthy home. But expecting your home to be constantly tidy might be an unrealistic expectation, especially when children are present. Expecting such would only cause you anxiety and depressed mood. Do not worry about the cleanliness of your home but rather focus on fellowship as this is much more important and significant.

3. “I must prepare a flawless meal for my gathering otherwise I might be perceived negatively by others” – The quality of meals should not be the main focus of the holidays. If food preparation is an issue, there is nothing wrong with purchasing meals from a restaurant. To go one step further, having a potluck might be a better and less expensive idea as your guests would be directly involved with the food preparation by offering a variety of foods at your gathering freeing up time for fellowship.

4. “My physical appearance must be acceptable and appropriate otherwise I might be perceived negatively by others” – Aside from daily hygiene, do not worry about your physical appearance. The fellowship that you can give to one another is much more important than your physical appearance. More times than not, our own anxiety over our physical appearance has more to do with how we feel about ourselves rather than how others may perceive us.

5. “I need to bring a mate to the gathering otherwise I might be perceived negatively by others” – If you are single, sometimes attending a gathering by yourself where couples are present might make you feel uncomfortable as you might feel that you do not fit in. Keep in mind that you are not alone as there are many people that are divorced, separated, or single. If having a mate was a prerequisite for gatherings, I guarantee you that there would be a lot less gatherings! In addition, avoiding gatherings would only rob you of the experience of possibly meeting a potential mate.

6. “I need to pretend that I am happy during gatherings otherwise I might be perceived negatively by others” - Experiencing happiness is not a prerequisite for attending gatherings. Oftentimes, life events and experiences that have nothing to do with the holidays may play a direct role in your emotional disposition. The wonderful thing about gatherings is that there are plenty of people that you can talk with. If someone asks you how you are doing or feeling, be honest with them and let them know. Do not tell them that everything is fine when it is not. Oftentimes, having someone to discuss your problems with might actually help you resolve them as well as make you feel better. Take advantage of this opportunity.

If there are any other unhealthy thoughts that you might be dealing with that are not discussed in this article, I encourage you to write those thoughts down on a piece of paper writing a healthier thought (one that you would like to subscribe to) next to it. It would also be a good idea for you to review these thoughts daily so that it becomes easier to recognize and replace unhealthy thoughts.

The second way to avoid anxiety and depressed mood is to establish personal and professional goals for yourself. There is a lot to be said for New Year’s resolutions. Establishing short and long-term goals is a healthy idea because they can provide you with structure by giving you something to look forward to. Goals oftentimes give meaning to our lives. Those who do not have goals often feel hopeless and helpless. Just make sure that the goals that you establish are significant and achievable otherwise they will not be effective or worth your while to achieve.

And finally, the third way to avoid anxiety and depressed mood is to work at giving to others. Sometimes we are fooled into believing that happiness is achieved through the gifts that we receive or the items that we purchase. Just the opposite is true. You can achieve true happiness by helping others in need, volunteering your services, holding the hand of one in despair, or just simply being there when one experiences a low moment in his/her life. Oftentimes, it is not the words that we say that lifts one’s spirit or gives one hope. But rather, it is just being there that makes all the difference in the world. At times, we feel uncomfortable because we do not know the right words to say to those who are hurting. Words are not always important. The fellowship and the love that you can provide is what the holidays are all about. Let’s not lose this perspective and let’s not give unhealthy thoughts, with all the anxiety and depressed mood that goes along with them, the ability to rob us from experiencing the joy and the happiness that we all deserve to experience during the holidays. Happy holidays to all!

Human beings were meant to move – a lot. We cannot deny the fact that our genetic blueprint was formed back when our ancient ancestors had to survive that harshest of conditions. Being highly active stimulated chemicals that told the body’s operating systems that strength, endurance and health was needed for example to feed a family.

Once hard physical activity slowed or stopped it meant that the family now could feed and fend for itself and the work of reproduction for survival of the species had been done. This meant that humans that were no longer productive had to make room for the next generation. That is the way of nature.

Our genes have not changed, but our modern world has changed a great deal. Technology and mechanization has meant that almost every scrap of physical activity has been removed from our lives leaving our bodies without the mechanism to remain healthy.
Sedentary lifestyles mean our bodies can’t operate as they were designed to operate affecting not only our physical health but our mental health as well.

The soothing body chemicals that nature meant us to use as natural calming agents don’t get a chance to work their daily magic if we don’t stimulate them through vigorous exercise. This affects our moods, our happiness, motivation and our pleasure in living.

Research has proved that inactive people have twice the risk of becoming depressed.

Some of the benefits of a proper exercise program in treatment for depression are as follows:

People have reported that when they exercise they experienced:

•	thinking more clearly, feeling happier and better about themselves
•	an increased positive mood, a sense of well-being
•	weight loss and improved strength and vigor
•	reduced stress, anger and fatigue
•	an increased motivation along with greater self esteem
•	felt less negative and pessimistic
•	less nervousness, anxiety and better sleep
•	looking and feeling younger
•	greater self confidence

There is increasing evidence proving that exercise plays a vital role in uplifting depression, increasing energy and renewing vitality. Some doctors are prescribing an exercise routine instead of, or in addition to medications. An exercise program could well be the cheapest and most available anti depressant and according to research, is as effective as any drug is for healing depression.

Depression can make it hard to be motivated to get moving, so seek the help of a fitness professional to help you get started and ensure you are exercising correctly and safely. They will also monitor your progress which will keep your motivation levels high.

Although it may be a few months until the full beneficial effects of your exercise program kick in there will be immediate ‘feel good’ feelings each time you exercise which will make you happier and keep your mind trouble free.

You will also get more energy exercising and have a better more positive outlook on yourself and your life. If you do not already appreciate all of the wonderful things in your life you just might start.
