In many households the general setup is there are 2-4 computers or laptops accessing the internet through a wireless network. If you made a document on a different computer you will need to transfer it over with USB or email. With a wireless printer you can avoid that hassle and allow all the computers in the household to share the same printer.

If you are on the internet, then the odds are good that you already have a wireless network because of how common they have become. Most offices will also have a wireless network set up.
